(Youth Development Camp Instilling Bharathiya Rich Culture and Heritage) 

  Date: 17.07.2026 – 19.07.2026 

  Yuva Sanskriti (Youth Development Camp Instilling Bharathiya Rich Culture and Heritage) for school students was conducted from 17th July 2026 to 19th July 2026 at  Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore–20. Totally 156 students from 11 Schools participated in the camp.

Day-1 (17.07.2026)

The students arrived on the campus on the evening of 17th July 2026. Upon their arrival, an orientation session was conducted to familiarise them with the objectives and schedule of the programme. Subsequently, accommodation was arranged separately at Swami Saradananda Illam and the SRMVCAS SF Campus.

The inauguration ceremony of three-day camp was held at 7.00 pm. Revered Swami Garishthananda Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya Institutions presided over the function. Revered Swami Harinathananda Maharaj, In-charge, SRMVCAS (SF) graced the occasion with his presence and guidance. The programme commenced with Arathi and Prayer.

Dr. R. Jayaprakash, Principal i/c, Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore, delivered the welcome address in which he emphasised the need to instil the values of India's rich cultural heritage in the minds of the younger generation.

 Dr. K. Kandappan, Secretary,Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore, delivered the special address, highlighting the significance of organising youth camps for higher secondary students to nurture character, discipline, and leadership qualities.

Dr. R. Sridhar, Director, SRMV CAS (SF),in his keynote address, explained the objectives and motto of organising the camp. Dr. M. Jaikumar, Associate Professor and Head, BCA and Coordinator of the camp proposed the Vote of Thanks.

The Swami Vivekananda Message Pledge was then administered to all the participants.

The first session of Day One was handled by Dr. D. Rajakumar, Assistant Professor of Tamil, SRMVCAS, on the topic “History of Indian Freedom Struggle” at 7.40 p.m., during which he recalled the sacrifices of many forgotten and unsung freedom fighters. 

Dr. M. Jaikumar, Associate Professor and Head, Department of BCA, SRMVCAS, handled the second session about “Awareness of Cyber Crimes” at 8.45 p.m., where he insisted the importance of not sharing personal information with unknown callers and created awareness about various forms of digital fraud.

Day-2 (18.07.2026)

  The second day's program began with aerobics and yoga sessions. The students were divided into two batches: one group received aerobics training, while the other received yoga training from 6.30 a.m. to 7.30 a.m. The sessions were conducted by the faculty members of the Department of Physical Education.

  The students were segmented into three groups and based on these groups, the forenoon sessions were conducted simultaneously from 9.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. as follows:

 Dr. A. Malathi, Associate Professor of Computer Science, Government Arts College, Coimbatore, in her interactive session on “Personality Development” focused on leadership, communication, and soft skills.

Sri. R. Jeganath, Assistant Professor of B.Com CA, SRMVCAS, handled the session on “One Minute Talk” which aimed at improving the students' memory power and developing their confidence.

The Career Path session for Science students was handled by Dr. R. Sridhar, Director, SRMVCAS (SF), while the Career Guidance session for Commerce students was handled by Dr. A. Balagurusamy, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Commerce, SRMVCAS, and Dr. P. Kuppuraj, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Commerce (CA & PA), SRMVCAS. Counselling was provided to the students regarding the higher education opportunities available in their respective fields..

The technical session was provided to the students focusing on the use of the latest Artificial Intelligence tools.

The Speaker selection for the debate was conducted in the afternoon between 1.30 p.m. and 2.30 p.m., in which all the students were given the opportunity to speak and based on the performance, 10 students were selected for the debate followed by a visit to Natchatra Vanam and an exhibition of Indian Freedom struggle.

Games aimed at strengthening the body and mind were conducted by Dr. G. Balasundar, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Physical Education, Health Education and Sports, SRMVCAS, in the evening from 4.15 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.

The students attended the prayer at Sri Ramakrishna Temple between 6.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m.

 Dr. M. Jaikumar, Associate Professor and Head, Department of BCA, SRMVCAS, handled the session on “Ways to express Gratitude” during 8.00 p.m. and 8.45 p.m., where he highlighted the importance of expressing gratitude in every walk of life. He also stressed the importance of social responsibility and humanity through relevant examples.

The day concluded with a debate held from 8.45 p.m. to 10.15 p.m. on the topic “Indraiya Illaya Samuthayam Perithum Virumbuvathu Panama! Pasama!, judged by Dr. R. Abimanyu, Assistant Professor of Tamil, SRMVCAS.

Day-3 (19.07.2026)

The third day's program started at 6:30 a.m. Like the previous day, the students were divided into two batches. The students who had participated in the aerobics session on the previous day received yoga training, while those who had attended the yoga session were trained in aerobics by the faculty members of the Department of Physical Education. The students of the Department of Physical Education also demonstrated the Mallakhamb event

Session - 1(9.00 a.m. – 9.45 a.m.): Revered Swami Harivratananda Maharaj, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, delivered a special address on “Swami Vivekananda for Today's Youth” in which he highlighted the role of youth in nation-building, as envisioned by Swami Vivekananda. Swamiji also emphasised how concentration and selflessness play a vital role in becoming a successful person.

Session - 2(9.45 a.m. – 10.30 a.m.): Dr. J.B. Chandrasekar, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Social work, SRMVCAS, delivered a talk on “Positive Psychology”. He focused on how positive thinking can bring about positive changes in everyone's life.

 Session - 3(11.00 a.m. – 11.45 a.m.): The session on “Say No to Drugs” was handled by Mr. N. Shanmugan, Assistant Professor of English, SRMVCAS, where he warned the students against drug abuse and created awareness about the causes and harmful effects of drug consumption. A "Say No to Drugs" pledge was also administered to the students.

Session - 4(11.45 a.m. – 12.30 p.m.): Revered Swami Harinathananda Maharaj, In-charge, SRMVCAS (SF), delivered a special address on “Role of Youth in Developing the Nation”. Swamiji highlighted the importance of concentration and self-discipline as key qualities for individual development, which ultimately contribute to the development of the nation.

Session – 5(2.15 p.m. – 3.00 p.m.): Feedback session by the students. The students gave the positive feedback on career guidance session, campus infrastructure and hospitality.

Session - 6(3.00 p.m. – 4.00 p.m.): The Valedictory function began with a welcome address by Dr. R. Jayaprakash, Principal (i/c), Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore. Revered Swami Tadbhasananda Maharaj, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya delivered the Valedictory address and highlighted the importance of human values. Participation certificates were given to the students who attended the camp, followed by a photo session. Dr. R. Sridhar, Director, SRMV CAS (SF), presented the Camp report. Dr. M. Jaikumar, Associate Professor and Head, Department of BCA, SRMVCAS proposed the Vote of Thanks.
