Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute (RKMVERI), Faculty of General & Adapted Physical Education and Yoga (GAPEY), Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya Campus organized “State Level Paralympics Sports Tournaments (RKMV TROPHY)” for Persons with Disabilities on 19th & 20th August 2026.
This tournament for persons with disabilities was organized under four categories namely
- Para Sitting Volleyball
- Kabaddi for Hearing Impaired
- Volleyball for Visually Impaired
- Football for Intellectually Challenged
Swami Garishthananda Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya Institutions, Swami Tadbhasananda Maharaj, Assistant Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Sri Pavankumar G Giriyappanavar [Chief Guest], District Collector, Coimbatore District, Dr. R. Giridharan, Head of the Department, RKMVERI-Faculty of GAPEY, Dr. S. Alagesan, Director, Swami Vivekananda Cultural & Heritage Center, Dr. T. Jayabal, Principal, SRMV, Maruthi College of Physical Education were the dignitaries who graced the Inaugural function and flagged of the events.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 40 teams comprising 344 athletes with disabilities and 52 coaches and managers, representing 24 districts across Tamil Nadu.
Monks, Heads of Vidyalaya Institutions inaugurated all the matches conducted on these both days in league (day 1) cum knock-out (day 2) fixtures and motivated the players.

R. S. Maruti, [Chief Guest] District Governor (2026-2027), Rotary International District 3206 were the dignitaries who distributed the Trophies, Certificates and Cash Prizes to the Winners.
