LIBRARY

Library is the delivery platform of new ideas and is virtually the heart of the institution. Library and information centres in Technical Institutions have been playing important role in enriching the knowledge of the students, teachers and other members of the institution. In other words the library is a powerhouse where knowledge is generated and distributed to .the users in various ways like issue of books, information through network, online public access system etc. Our polytechnic library was established during the academic year 1963-64. With a minimum collection of books, journals and other information sources it commenced its services and is growing steadily in terms of collections, services and operations of the library. Now In the Golden Jubilee year our library is fully automated in terms of issue, return and other operations of the library with bar coding facility. Now we have 11500 volumes of books, 250 back volumes, 250 CD ROMs and are subscribing 50 journals in different disciplines, Tamil and English news papers, two each. Open Access System is followed to facilitate students to access and browsing the sources directly. Circulation Service, Current

Awareness Service, Selective Dissemination of Information service are some of the services offered in our library.
