Besides regular curriculum on par with diploma courses offered by other polytechnic colleges, every branch also offers some additional areas of specialization.
Practical training along with regular studies constitutes the important feature of this Polytechnic College. At the end of the first year, the students undergo practical training for a period of one week in our campus. While the second year students go to different industries and construction companies for a month-long practical training. The third year students complete major projects in their respective field of studies.
AUDIT COURSES
In order to facilitate all-round development of the personality, we have incorporated Audit Courses into our Academic Curriculum. Hence, from this academic year onwards, students will get the benefit of three additional subjects under Audit Courses as listed below:
- English Communication Skill
- Value Education
- NCC / NSS / Sports and Cultural Education
English Communication Skill and Value Education (i & ii) are compulsory subjects of audit course. Whereas, the students are given the option to choose one subject among NCC, NSS, Sports and Cultural education.
The Evaluation: Every year the students who undergo the audit course are to write examinations in the concerned subjects. They are evaluated and graded according to their performance.
NCC
The Senior Division Army NCC unit was
newly raised on 23rdAugust 1997. It functions as a sub
unit of 6 TN MED COY NCC Coimbatore. Lt. N. Balasubramani
the present principal looks after the company as company
commander. He has the credit of having attended the "Republic
Day Camp 2004 and the prestigious Prime Minister's Rally" held
at New Delhi as second in command for Tamilnadu NCC
Directorate. The N CC company of our college has a sanctioned
enrolment of 50 cadets. The institutional trainings
include Parade Drill, Leadership Traits, Map Reading,
Field Craft, Battle Craft, Social Services, etc., The
special trainings imparted are Adventure Training, Annual
Training Camps and Special Training Camps. At the end
of the second year of service, cadets appear for "B" certificate
examination and at the end of the third year cadets
appear for "C" certificate
examinations which are conducted by the control of Army
Officers.
